Gifting sight to the PacificVolunteer Ophthalmic Services Overseas (VOSO) is a New Zealand charitable trust that provides free eye aid to the Pacific. This completely voluntary based service that has been supported for over 30 years by optometrists, and ophthalmologists alike.
VOSO plays a huge role in helping restore sight to those less fortunate in the Pacific Islands through sight-saving surgery (cataract) and the distribution of thousands of pairs of glasses each year. With the help of volunteers and donations we can continue to change lives for the better. |

As little as $10 can make a huge difference to someone's sight.
What We DoVOSO sends across a team of highly skilled ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide glasses, sunglasses and eye surgery that these people would not have access to otherwise. Sometimes VOSO is the only Eye Team that visits these places.
|
Where We GoVOSO travels to countries in the Pacific Islands. Currently we visit Fiji, Samoa and Tonga each year.
VOSO has served in Vanuatu and Papa New Guinea. |
Who We AreVOSO is a voluntary charity of eye care professionals- ophthalmologists and
optometrists. Time is spent behind the scenes co-ordinating and liaising for a trip to happen. VOSO trustees then volunteer their time and skills on the trips. |
How To HelpTo continue changing lives and restoring sight VOSO needs help. VOSO relies on financial donations and donated glasses to distribute in the Pacific. Donated sunglasses are a valued commodity in the sunny and hot Pacific Islands.
