How to Donate Your Used Glasses

Your local optometrist may collect your used glasses and sunglasses,
or you may prefer to send them directly to one of the 3 Lions Clubs that do glasses recycling.

If you are a spectacle lens manufacturer,  frame supplier,  or hobby glasses distributor please contact the Secretary on vosocharity@gmail.com

As a guide for optometrists collecting glasses please send only glasses that fit the follwing criteria
  • Frame- that is fit for wear eg not broken, crooked
  • Lenses- coatings intact
  • Prescription- Astigmatism no more than 0.75 with or against the rule +/- 20 degrees
  • Anisometropia no more than 0.75DS
  • Ideally single vision but we do accept bifocals and progressives
  • Sunglasses- plano lenses and frame in good working condition, prescription as above
