WAYS TO GIVE
80% of global visual impairment is thought to be avoidable, meaning it is either preventable or treatable and VOSO is working hard to reduce this in the Pacific. Many people in the Pacific Island have little or no access to eye care. In New Zealand we have 127 ophthalmologists, but there are none based in Samoa or Tonga, leaving 300,000 people reliant on visiting ophthalmologists. Samoa has 1 optometrist for the entire country, compared to New Zealand which has 20 times the population but 600 times more optometrists. Your gift reaches more people in the Pacific Islands who suffer without the eye care they desperately need—and helps improve life quality and can even save lives.
